Next steps

  1. Show an adult how your game works. How long is a round, and when can you save or say goodbye to your team?
  2. Look at the rest of your day: sleep, homework, meals, friends and time outdoors. Choose gaming time that leaves room for them.
  3. Agree on a finish time and final round or save point before starting. Do not begin another round that will not fit your agreement.
  4. Use a timer as a reminder and agree on a warning before the finish time. An adult can help with the transition before time runs out.
  5. Choose what comes next: a walk with an adult, drawing, play or meeting a friend. Get it ready before gaming ends.
  6. Write down your agreement. You can save it in Gaming & Screen Time if you use the web test. Try the plan and change it together if it is hard to follow.
  7. Use your device’s parental settings to restrict other apps and test the choices together. Sprout’s timer does not measure or lock other apps.
